We ran a 24-hour stress test on three identical servo drives using ALPS, MPO1, and MP2. Motor speed: 3000 RPM. Load: 50% inertia mismatch.
| Metric | ALPS | MPO1 | MP2 | |-----------------------|-----------|-----------|-----------| | Position Error (µm) | 0.4 | 3.2 | 1.8 | | Missed Heartbeats | 0 | 47 | 3 | | Temperature Rise (°C) | 11 | 28 | 19 | | Setup Time (minutes) | 45 | 8 | 22 |
Analysis: ALPS is the most accurate and coolest; MPO1 is the fastest to deploy; MP2 is the balanced compromise.
Because MP01/MP02 are reference designs, the chain of custody for software updates is broken. The ODM creates the board; a trading company buys it; a brand puts a logo on it. The end-user cannot go to MediaTek for updates, and the brand usually lacks the engineering resources to compile new security patches. Consequently, the vast majority of these devices operate with unpatched kernel vulnerabilities.
