Cyberpunk 2077 is massive. The base game, even after patches, clocks in at over 60GB. However, if you want all the voice-overs (English, Japanese, French, German, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Chinese), that file size can balloon to nearly 100GB.

For a user who bought the game legally but only speaks, say, Japanese, downloading an extra 30GB of English files they will never use is a waste of bandwidth and SSD space. If you cannot read the current language in the menu, or if the game refuses to switch, you can force the language by editing the configuration file. Look for a file named platform (it is

  • Change the two-letter code (en for English) to your preferred language code:

  • Launch the game; it should now be in the language you set.
  • Inside the extracted CODEX pack, you will see a folder structure mimicking the game root:

    Copy these folders manually into your actual Cyberpunk 2077 install directory. Overwrite when prompted (back up the original archive\pc\content folder first if you want to revert).
