The global teaching workforce is 85 million. While droid tutors currently augment, cost pressures may lead to replacement. The most vulnerable roles: test graders, substitute teachers, repetitive skills trainers. Retraining programs are urgently needed.

More importantly, they track latent learning—the subtle "aha" moment a student has before they raise their hand. Current evidence strongly supports droid tutors for personalized skill practice, language acquisition, STEM drills, and special education support. However, the core of education remains relational: the inspiration, empathy, and moral modeling provided by human teachers cannot yet be algorithmically replicated. A future where every child has access to a droid tutor—and a caring human mentor—is not only possible but imperative. The question is not whether we should use droid tutors, but how we can ensure they serve human flourishing rather than efficiency at any cost.
