This method requires no external downloads and works on all versions of WoW (Retail, Classic, Cataclysm Classic).
Procedure:
Result: White numbers for physical damage, yellow for spells/abilities, and green for healing will scroll upward from enemies and your character.
The native system is limited. It does not show incoming damage numbers (damage you receive) by default and struggles with high-frequency events. For detailed analysis, players use addons.
Recommended Addon: MikScrollingBattleText (MSBT) Why: MSBT separates combat text into two distinct scroll areas (incoming on left, outgoing on right) and allows full color/size customization. Classic uses a simpler system
