3.9.9 - Sharepod

SharePod 3.9.9 is not beautiful. Its UI looks like a Visual Basic 6 project from 2003. But when your teenage iPod Mini suddenly won’t mount in Windows 11, and you just want to grab those 2007 playlists before the drive fails forever—you’ll thank yourself for keeping this 800KB ghost in your toolkit.

Final rating: 9/10. One point deducted because it can’t handle modern Touch devices. Everything else? Still magic.

Do you still use SharePod? Or have you moved to Foobar2000 with the foo_dop plugin? Let me know in the comments below.

While powerful, this version is not a magic bullet. Be aware of these hard limits: sharepod 3.9.9

Winner by category:

Q: Can SharePod 3.9.9 recover deleted songs from an iPod? A: Only if the data blocks haven't been overwritten. Unlike dedicated recovery software (EaseUS, Recuva), SharePod only reads the active database. For deleted tracks, you need a raw disk scanner first.

Q: Does it work on Windows 11? A: Yes, but you must install the legacy Apple Mobile Device USB driver from iTunes 12.6.5. Without it, Windows 11 may block direct disk access.

Q: Is there a Mac version of SharePod 3.9.9? A: No. The Mac equivalent is called Senuti (iTunes backwards) – but Senuti only transfers from iPod to Mac, not vice versa. SharePod 3

Solution: Your iPod icon on the desktop must not be greyed out. In SharePod, go to Edit > Preferences > Advanced and check "Force write mode".

Drop the .exe onto a flash drive. Run it from any computer. It doesn’t touch the registry. On modern Windows 10/11, it still launches (you may need to run as Admin).
