Independent security firm Trail of Bits reviewed a pre-release of 2.3000. Their findings:

Verdict: For 99% of users, this is the most secure WhatsApp ever. For journalists and activists, wait for the full source code release (expected Q3).

No major release is perfect. Early adopters have reported:

| Issue | Workaround | |-------|-------------| | Battery drain on older Androids (v8–9) | Disable “Always-on” voice message transcription in Settings > Storage & Data. | | Notification delay on iOS | Re-pair your Apple Watch (if applicable) or toggle off “Low Power Mode.” | | Channel posts not loading | Clear app cache: Settings > Apps > WhatsApp > Storage > Clear Cache. | | Sticker suggestions not appearing | Re-download your sticker packs. This feature requires local indexing, which takes 24–48 hours. |

WhatsApp typically releases a hotfix (2.3001 or 2.3000.2) within two weeks to address critical bugs.

First, it is crucial to address a common misconception. While many users search for "WhatsApp version 2.3000" expecting a massive UI overhaul, the numbering system is largely internal. The 2.3000 series represents a consolidation of "Version 2" of the WhatsApp architecture (which moved from Electron to Native platforms) hitting a significant build number.

This specific family of builds (2.3000.xxx) is currently rolling out across Android (Google Play Beta), iOS (TestFlight), and WhatsApp Desktop. It serves as the foundation for features expected in late 2025 and early 2026.

The standalone app will auto-update to 2.3000.4. Web users will see a banner requesting a browser update to WebUSB 2.0.
